1.) The Half and Half Tuck
Button-downs don't have to be basic. Switch things up by undoing the bottom buttons of your shirt so that you can tuck one side in and leave the other side out. If it looks like you've been raving all night and borrowed your boyfriend's shirt, you're doing it right.
2.) The Side Tuck
When you want to look like you're too cool to care, go for the side tuck. The easiest way to achieve this look is by completely tucking in your shirt and then slightly pulling out one corner. The key is not to overthink it.
3.) The Mullet Tuck
The mullet tuck is a favorite of the fashion crowd. You'll want to tuck in the front of your shirt, but leave the back loose. You know, business in the front, party in the back.
4.) The Crisscross Tuck
Two looks, one shirt? We'll take it! To nail this trick, unbutton your shirt, crisscross the two sides and tuck the ends in tight. Got it?
5.) The Belly Button Tuck
We imagine the belly button tuck originated from a rushed mullet. Same formula, less commitment up front.
6.) The Fake Out Tuck
If you're wearing any bottoms with an accent at the waist, like a bow or a belt bag, try the fake out tuck. Just fold up one side of the shirt until it's resting on top of the detail. Tip: This one works best with short shirts and sweaters.
7.) The Inflatable Tuck
When you have a sweatshirt situation, you can't worry about achieving a neat, flat tuck. It just won't happen. Instead, emphasize the shirt with a full, very loose tuck. If it's asymmetrical or a little messy, you're on the right track.
